The Watch

This is of course fan fiction with a hint of originality. Some of the people you see in here may be familiar to you. May in some cases be you. Or may in fact be characters you are fully aware of from other stories which include games, anime, manga, movies, tv shows, and god knows who or what else. This is meant to be sci-fi, humorous, serious, random, and semi-political...I guess... I own little to no characters in this series...Basically if you and no one you know recognize them...they are 70% likely to be mine. ***NOTE*** If you wish to be my offical Editior for this series I suggest you contact me and become my friend first. If you wish to do "offical" artwork for the series I recommend the same as well as sample work.

She was running late. Nothing new; but something that bothered her more than normal. Two days had passed since she'd first seen that boy on the subway. Two days since she'd spent nearly three hours at her home computer searching over photographs. Two days since her interest had been peeked to alarming levels, in more ways than one. The day after her encounter she had been fidgety, the second day she had just been annoyed. And today? Well she really didn't care today … at least that's what she kept telling herself.

Rage

Part 1 Centuries ago, all mankind lived among tribes. They were very isolated, and depended on nobody but themselves. They were completely independent, and rarely worked with any other clans. Their self-sufficiency lead to a multitude of advancements in their civilizations, and one of the most notable improvements in one society was the ability to enchant objects and people with certain types of magic. It was a skill that many other tribes coveted. This greed led to the first actual conflict between tribes: the conflict very quickly became a first war that mankind had known. The society that had come up with the power did not fight; it knew what was happening, and they knew it was because of what they had done. A mysterious being had appeared in the tribe and spoke of what the future held. He told them that they would cease to exist very soon. He knew they could wield the power of enchantment, and he told them he would help them. Using his own energy and with one final move of the tribe's enchantment, they set a certain, very strong power into three items: a staff, a sword, and a trench knife, and buried them under what would soon become the ruins of their great civilization. They knew they'd be overpowered, but they did nothing to try and stop it. Soon enough, attacks from the other tribes were too much, and this civilization crumbled to the ground. _______________________ Part 2 The memory of that society--known afterwards as the Furui--and all of the others around it had been lost in due time. Nothing of that era had been spoken of until sometime during the 9th century. Times were looking up for society then: castles were again being built for the first time since the Roman era, news of Muslims beginning to integrate the knowledge of other cultures into their own was becoming known to the world. The first book had been printed on a wood block printer, and knowledge began to spread through the world from these innovations. On an island in the Pacific Ocean known as Macenia, a civilization lived the same way their ancestors had lived. They were split into tribes and clans based on family and given a certain name. Two of the most prosperous clans were Sheineto and Kafuno. They were rich, powerful, and at the same time well-protected. Their fame only grew when one day, a boy from the Kafuno clan known as Renado and a girl called Stilena Sheineto came across a small cave. Upon exploration of the cave, the two children found three weapons sitting underwater. They all had different-colored glows to them. The children took them home and showed the leaders of the clans. A meeting was called among the two families to look closer into these artifacts. They were sealed with some kind of power, and with the help of a Kafuno enchantress, the seals were broken. The power poured out from the artifacts, and its aura emanated throughout the area surrounding the homes of the two main families of the clans. Everyone within range was effected by this unleashing of power, and when the rush was through, they had made yet another discovery. Everyone who was in range of the surge now had a gained characteristic. Pretty much all of them were superhuman, and none of them were certainly normal. The clans decided that as long as the two families held the artifacts, they would continue to have the powers that they had been granted. But soon enough, one family wanted this power for themselves. Chief of the Kafuno clan thought that eventually those of the Sheineto clan would try to usurp the artifacts from them. So he decided to preemptively stop that from happening. He ordered for every member of the Sheineto clan to be killed and stored away somewhere. The deed was done quickly, but not without a cost. The Kafuno clan now possessed all three artifacts, and the joining of them brought about the spirit of a being that existed long before them. He said he was the creator of the three objects, and he had been watching over their possessors. He knew that the Kafuno clan killed the Sheineto clan, and for that, he placed a curse alongside the gifts the Kafuno had. Everyone hailing from the Kafuno bloodline from there on would have a special ability, but it would work as a double edged sword, as they would also have a deficiency or something to hold them back. The spirit vanished as quickly as it had appeared, and the Kafunos spent the rest of their believed existence secluded within their homes, afraid to face the rest of the tribes. Not many Kafuno live to this day, but through breeding, the powers have branched out more than they should have. But that does not mean there are none left. The power of those artifacts again lays hidden in ruin, and it is the fuel behind the Kafuno family curse. The fate of the Kafuno bloodline rests in whatever hands may touch those artifacts. ___________ The Kafuno clan stayed in the open throughout the rest of the 9th century, and up until some time in the 11th century, when they finally went into hiding from the world. Not many main members were ever seen. But the family lived on, well past the 20th century. One certain notable location of the Kafuno bloodline was in a town known as Colfer Heights. A mostly suburban area, Colfer Heights had very little disturbance, and almost no crime at all, save for a few petty crimes. It was hailed as an ideal spot for family, and therefore a Family of Kafuno lived there. There were three of them: a mother, Melissa, and her two sons. The older of the sons left along with their father when he was young, and less than a year later, the second child was born. After the conception of the younger son, Mike, Melissa did not leave the house. She had been crippled by the birth, and once Mike was of age, he took the responsibility of watching after his mother. It was during this time that Mike learned of the Kafuno bloodline, the gifts they held, and the curse that ran through his veins.

Just a little something I'm writing. I need to get some emotions out in the open so they don't eat me from the inside out and this is a good chance for me to work on my prose skills. :-) Note: Events and/or characters in this story may or may not be completely fictitious. ;-) P.S. - I decided that when I get done with this whole story, which actually might not be for a while, I'm going to rewrite it in the present tense. :-) I've been trying to write this in the past because it's a memory, but I keep accidentally writing present tense words and having to go back and fix it. So yeah, I just wanted to mention that. :-)
