Only time left

"I don't have enough time for you," says the young man
"I have to work, I have to play, I have to be."

The young woman says nothing.
Minutes to hours, hours to days, days to years.

"I don't have enough time for us," says the man
"I have to work, I have to play, I have to be."

"I don't have much time left," says the woman.
"I will not be here to work, to play, to be."

"You have plenty of time." says the man.
"Much more time than I ever have for those things."

Seconds to minutes, minutes to hours, hours to days

"I have enough time for you now," says the old man.
"Time to live, to love, to create."

No one answers.

A good reminder of what is important in life....especially around this time of year when people are scrambling around to buy chocolates or cards for Valentine's Day.  To me, I'd rather be given time than roses....although, both time AND chocolate can make for a really fun evening... *evil grin*

D. and I rarely do anything for Valentine's Day, but this year I bought him a card. It's just not my favorite holiday, I don't think I need an excuse to tell him how I feel about him. I also sent my family cards, which they have all called and said how much it meant to them that I sent one this year. I'm just happy that I could make them smile at such a difficult time in our lives.
Creativity is essentially a lonely art. An even lonelier struggle. To some a blessing. To others a curse. It is in reality the ability to reach inside yourself and drag forth from your very soul an idea -Lou Dorfsman
