About the Author
23 things:
1. Known by the same moniker on deviantArt ( [link] )
2. dabbles in poetry, essays, and fiction
3. currently working on a novel of vast proportions of which I have barely scratched the surface.
4. is addicted to those fill-in-the blank surveys (please see DA site, as I will not be posting any more of this trivialness here, except for this blurb. Most, but not all, of this list is complied from previously posted material.) Someday I want to compile all those questions into one book for my descendants. It's important for them to know what I ate last, my favorite cheese, or what colour Crayon I want to be....
5. My hobbies include entomology, ethology, macrophotography, and journal writing
6. I am ophidophobic.
7. Plans on being published in some fashion for either my writing or my photography in the next year.
8.  Plans on keeping all of my rejection letters to level myself when I become famous ;)
9. My given name means "holy" or "most holy" and is based on the Greek myth of Ariadne and Theseus. Variations of my given name (adding or subtracting several letters), also mean "Silver"  (Welsh) and  "utterly pure," (from a Cretan-Greek form for arihagne).
10. 23 is my lucky number.
11. My informal writing is littered with ellipses and parentheses. I think it's because I think in pauses and have more than one thought going at any given time.
12. I almost always spell the word "the" as "teh" when I type.  My fingers refuse to listen to reason, threats, or teh dictionary.
13. I have kept track of every book I have read since 2002.
14. I cannot read just one book at a time. The magic number is usually 3.
15. I have at least 4-5 blank journals, that I actively write in, going at all times. And at least 4 more that get switched out with my moods. And I am famous for giving journals away as gifts...I wonder if that will be my legacy...a box of mouldy old journals and a coupla CD's of unpublished text....
16. I pride myself on my compulsively saguine useage of obscure vocabulary.
17. I collect weird things that have somehow or another caught my attention: insects, a bird skull, blue Mason jars, wooden boxes, a dehydrated puffer fish, old coins, sea glass, rocks, clinkers (the chunks of melted iron ore that are discarded from factory furnaces), sand from beaches I've never walked on, milk jars, shells, chopsticks, cactus....you name it, I have one or two...or twenty.
18. I would like to teach a creative writing class to adults, but I haven't found a way around either having a teaching degree or a Ph. D to teach college. Maybe when I am a famous author some college will give me a class to torture....and if wishes were horses, we'd all ride....
19. I am married to my grade school crush since Nov. 1, 2002....he's the one I've loved since second grade. He is my rock and my soulmate without a doubt.
20. -I am going to the 6th ring of Dante's Hell when I die {Dante's Inferno Test}  [ [link] ] I do believe the question asking if I believed in God was the clincher. I am agnostic and happy to be a fence sitter until I know one way or the other.
21. If a movie was made about my life, it would be called "I'd Rather be Reading"
22. I probably wouldn't write as much if it wasn't for Dec 7th.
23. I believe in ghosts.

Same here. I was doing some browsing through DA one day and I swear I found a lady's gallery where it was nothing but pretty much trashy, naked pictures of her. I mean, this was clearly, NO DOUBT ABOUT IT, some fat lady wanting take naked pictures of herself to get attention. I felt I needed to report it to ADMIN because if anything, thirteen year olds RULE Myspace now.  They sent me back a note saying my claim was rejected. It's not that hard to see that it was trashy, even all the comments weren't critique or good job,  they were just guys getting off on this really fat naked ugly woman.

I got offended to say the least. :)

*smiles* I found you on Lemon Fingers. I got hit with the writing bug and really got offended on DA the other day by the fact that someone thought pure porn was art... and admin wouldn't remove it.. SO here I am to write. At least till I find a new shiny hobby to attract my attention span.

Anyways, thought I'd say hey hey...

Talk to ya laters. :)

Well, I'm seeing turkeys for sale in the grocery store now, for like $40 for a small one...so I think I'll just have to hold off on the turkey 'til I get back to the US...*sighs*  LOL

As for Indian food... I'd recommend trying Butter chicken, that seems to be what a lot of people try first when they venture into Indian curries.  It's not too spicy, and has good flavor, but is not likely to send you to the bathroom for the rest of the evening....Mango chicken is quite yummy too.  I tend to prefer the milder stuff.  If you like really hot stuff though, Chris loves vindaloo, but beware, it can be wicked hot!   Oh yeah, and do try the Tandori chicken.  It's marinated and then roasted in a tandor...which gives it this really good slightly smokey flavor, like it's been on the grill.

I sure do hope that there are a few good Indian restaurants in North Carolina...

I love my job! I feel that teaching is my call... and writing off course. Well, it doesn't pay much. I am paid according to the number of classes I give in a month. But on holiday season like this I got short because most of my students return to their home countries for Christmas. And the one who doesn't return doesn't want to learn! Who wants to learn during holiday season?! But luckily I have more translations to do so it balances everything.

I too took longer in college than expected...my 4 year degree took 5 years because I wanted a certain professor (who teaches every other year) to retake a class that I failed. Genetics, blah :( I have a bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology. And I sell eyeglasses.....*shakes head sadly* maybe someday I will be able to work in my field....

I should've finished two years ago... Normally it takes four years to finish an S1  degree (equal to bachelor in the US, that is a degree you complete after high school). The trend is different for each classes of course. I am in my sixth year... some problem with my thesis (awful supervisor whose approval is hard to get and objects to every proposal I made...). Well I am in the class of 2000. There's a new trend in class of 2002, they complete their studies in only three and a half years! It's the new curricullum.

Now I am reading The Cider House Rules (John Irving), Atlas Shrugged (Ayn Rand), and The Science of Good and Evil (Michael Shermer). The fisrt one is for fun, the second one is for my curiosity, and the third one is for my thesis... d'oh!
