About the Author
I like lots of boring philosophical and theological things, reading, music, art, poetry, quiet walks in pretty places, under seventy degree temperatures, helping people, anti-authoritarianism (for a good cause, naturally) and lots of other stuff that doesn't involve drugs or booze.

I've had a few things published here and there--newspaper, literary magazines--but nothing too big. Writing is something I'd like to do as more of a side project than anything else; I don't feel the spiritual calling involved in getting into writing full time. At least at this point in my life.

I hold a B.A. in Biblical Studies and am currently pursuing graduate studies in Chicago.  I would like to one day teach college.

I believe in God and that Jesus of Nazareth is His Christ.  I am bold enough to call myself a Christian.  I would also like to notify you that Jesus is recorded as saying, I am the way, the truth and the life.  No one can come to the Father except through me.  If you don't dig that, that's your choice.  If it makes you wanna' ask me something, do it.

My first poetic influence was E.E. Cummings.  I find his use of typography to make a statement uncanny and inspiring.

I heartily enjoy critiquing writings and helping others better their own form of the craft.  I encourage anyone who desires honest but constructive critiques to have no reservations about contacting me.  Likewise, I greatly appreciate anyone who is willing to read and make serious, detailed comments about my own work.

I've read a decent bit of poetry, mostly from Cummings, here on LF & other sites and scattered examples from English Lit class.  My poetry style is pretty much my own, and it can mainly be divided into three categories:  spoken word, rhyming and un-rhyming.  There are a number of subcategories of the latter two, none of which I will list; feel free to read through my work if you wish to delve into that fracas.

Jim Carrey is my favorite actor/comedian.

Haha...thanks man.
I didn't get into this business to change the world; I just wanted to tell stories. But now and then, you can make people care, make people notice that something ain't quite right, and nudge them gently, with the words, to get off their *** and fix it.  -Rick Bragg

It's a good thing to keep on the back burner.  Glad to hear from you, look forward to dialoguing with you about stuff, etc etc.

Until then, y'know.

You!
On one hand, I'm incredibly glad to see all of your updates.

Pregnant silence

That's it, there's no other hand (I lost it in a bowling accident, I try not to type about it too much).
Either way. I need to look through some of this stuff (admittedly, I've saved all the Circle messages that have to do with updates of yours and Suraj's).
Will I be getting to it soon? I doubt it (but look forward to comments in the passing months!).
Yeah... I'm giving myself a lot of leeway here.

Technically slam is a movement within modern poetry.  They are basically public readings where the audience votes to decide who wins the "slam."  Slam does not necessarily have to "spoken word," so to speak.  However within slam, the hip-hop style often associated with spoken word poetry tends to be more outspoken, to offer a bad pun.

Of course spoken word does not necessarily need to be slam poetry, or vice versa.  In truth it has been quite some time since I've ready publicly, and additionally, if I were to be "true" to the label of "slam" in regards to my lemonfingers collection, there would be a lot more work in that collection, since there are many others which I would submit to public reading.

It's just my own fancy beatnik way of saying 'spoken word,' at least on the site.

If you find any of this information fallacious, blame wikipedia :D
